We said good bye to everyone at the party and left the desert in El Paso around 8 pm and set off on a 13 hour all nighter to Houston. Angel and I keep taking 3 hour shifts of driving until we hit the deer crossing zone in the South Hills of Texas around 2 am. In the course of 2 hours we saw over 43 deer along the road, and believe me every one was alert as we swerved around dodging critters in the road; armadillos, opossums, and deer, oh my!!
