What a day to spend the 4th of July, I can tell you with certainty that my family and I were more captivated my the majestic natural sights within these amazing caverns than with the sparking little artificial ammunitions that went off in the sky that night. 
Angel had serious reservations about going down into the caverns at all, but she brilliantly overcame her fears and conquered an over 1 mile hike and 750 foot descent from the natural opening into the Big Room. 
The kids were troopers too, only a little complaining of "freezing" temperatures and "long" marches into the darkness, but they marched on and loved "every minute of" it :)
