Coming Home

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

We left Utah around noon after a morning at the skatepark.

We pulled over after driving through beautiful road side cuts, that made us want to go and explore a little bit more, and that we did. We found several caves and a few beautiful specimens of sedimentary rock to take home.
Las Vegas had nothing on all the natural wonders that we had seen, so we just blew through it.

"California, here we come, right back where we started from."

We made it home around eight in the evening. It is good to be back, but we feel a little out of place after being on the road so long. Thank to all our friends and family for following along, it has been quite a journey.

Utah-Zion National Park

Friday, August 1st, 2008

A heavenly name was definitely appropriate for a place so other worldly.

We spent most of our time exploring the Northern part of the park where Canyon is the most narrow and the sense of the heights of the walls are truly spectacular.

Utah-Rock Hunting in the Volcano

Friday, August 1st, 2008

The volcanos rose above the beautiful sedimentary cliffs that we had explored the day before. We headed out early in the morning to climb one of the volcanos we had spotted.

We were able to climb down into it's extinct center, and the rocks were much denser as their was much less air in them.
Now the difficult part began, getting out with some of the lava rocks that we had found.

Angel, got creative with her storage of the rocks on the way down as you can see.
